Tour in French could mean tower, turn, lathe… In Catalan “torn” evokes the word “torna” (returns) alluding to the desire of resuming certain knowledge and trades that little by little are being lost.
Tour performance proposal stems from the desire to stage the artisan technique of the potter’s wheel, offering this work of hands, often secret within the workshops, in a show format. Within the same proposal, this solitary job of the turner is confronted with the job of the trapeze artist, defined by display and visibility.
Taking Jaume Plensa as a reference “opposites create friction and from friction things are born” a physical and scenic work has been developed that derives from the observation between the oppositions between both techniques and the character-istic features that unite them. Creating a common language between the two disciplines: one alludes to the earth and weight, the other to air and lightness, but both dialogue with gravity, with verticality and circularity through the same hands to hold on, shape, caress, press…
With the tools used we want to offer an immersive and sensory proposal.
